After Static
a film by Maren Vox
About this event
After Static is a haunting short film exploring the space between connection and silence in the digital age. Director Maren Vox weaves together three parallel stories set across Brooklyn, each anchored by a character grappling with the noise of modern communication. The film has screened at Tribeca, SXSW, and the Rotterdam International Film Festival, earning praise for its restrained cinematography and layered sound design. This premiere event marks the first public screening in New York since its festival run.
The evening includes a full screening of the 38-minute film, followed by a live Q&A with director Maren Vox and lead cinematographer Elise Tanaka. VIP ticket holders receive front-row seating, a signed program, and early access to the post-screening reception. All attendees will receive a complimentary digital lookbook featuring behind-the-scenes stills.
